A work in progress, a book in serial form

Starting with an introductory essay and prologue, I’m using Substack to publish Part 1 of a life of Eliza Ogilvy (and her network of friends) in series chapter by chapter. Nine chapters are completed, seven of these already published here. I will continue editing and adapting the work prior to publication in print. Subscribers will receive all of the chapters published as well as additional material including research notes and previously unpublished poems and letters; they can also comment on the work. Subscription is currently free. Please do subscribe as you’ll receive email updates and it helps me understand what’s working well and not so well. Founding subscribers (£70) will receive a copy of the book on first publication.

For more about Eliza and the objectives of the work, please read the introductory essay.
